HHS Extends Deadline for Provider Relief Fund Payments, HHG OIG Opioid Toolkits, and Update on Opening up Practices
We would like to bring you some good news about the extension of the deadline for attestation and acceptance of terms and conditions for Provider Relief Fund payments to 45 days, the release of 2 toolkits for calculating opioids levels and identifying patients at risk of misuse or overdose, and lastly, an update on opening up your practices. Hopefully, you and your family stayed healthy during the lockdown and are now ready to get back to work. Before you do, there are some things you need to think about. This message will serve to give you some food for thought, so that when you get to work, you do it safely for your patients, staff and yourself. ASIPP BREAKING NEWS April 30, 2020 - Great News for Audio Payment Only!
In response to the tireless efforts of ASIPP, Community Oncology Alliance (COA), and organized medicine, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced this afternoon that they will be covering telephone only services at the same rate as in-office services, as we requested in our letter to CMS Administrator, Seema Verma. While this outcome is technically different form our request, it is financially the same.
Changes to Risk Stratification Documents
On April 27, we sent you a toolkit explaining morbidity risk mitigation flowchart for IPM and ASIPP risk stratification of patients presenting for pain procedures. This toolkit is for Phase I only.
Since releasing it, we have received multiple comments. There have been a few comments and requests for changes. In response, we have taken another look at it and made the appropriate changes. Please look over each document.(continue reading)
